CRM and client management for consulting firms
Keep the path from referral introduction to discovery call, proposal, and active engagement connected. Vertiqa brings client contacts, interview notes, statements of work, tasks, and follow-up into one workspace.
Keep the client’s next commitment, its owner, and its deadline together—from the partner who makes the promise to the consultant who follows through.

Your CRM should help you follow through
Consultants do not lose opportunities because they lack another dashboard. They lose them when:
- A discovery call ends without an owner for the assessment follow-up
- A referral introduction gets buried in a partner’s inbox
- Stakeholder interview notes never reach the engagement team
- The latest proposal or statement of work is hard to find
- A renewal conversation slips while the team finishes a deliverable
- A client asks for a progress update, but the next step has no owner
Connect discovery notes, proposal documents, and delivery tasks to the client relationship, so the next consultant can see what was discussed and what the team committed to do.
How Vertiqa helps consulting firms
One workspace for the client relationship
Keep the sponsor, stakeholder contacts, proposal, and engagement next steps connected as work moves from the partner who sold it to the team delivering it:
- CRM for prospects and referral partners
- Follow-up on proposals and renewals
- Booking pages for discovery calls
- Tasks for assessment and delivery next steps
- Client portals for intake and shared files
- Storage for statements of work and deliverables
- AI-assisted follow-up drafts, where enabled for your workspace
Before a client check-in, review the account’s follow-up history. Keep discovery notes and the statement of work with the relevant record so the next consultant has the context for the engagement.
Turn conversations into next steps
After a discovery call or stakeholder interview, capture the outcome once and check the next commitment. This is the routine to evaluate with your engagement lead:
- You enter the client name, the discovery call or stakeholder interview outcome, and the next assessment, proposal, or deliverable commitment. Include who owns it and when it is due.
- Where Vee is available, ask for a note and follow-up task in the same request. Vee prepares changes for your review.
- You check the client, action, owner, and deadline before confirming. If anything is missing or wrong, correct it before relying on the task.
- After saving, open the record and verify the owner and deadline. The engagement lead should open the same record and recover the next action; make that the handoff check in your pilot.
Prefer manual entry? Add the note and task directly, then make the same owner, deadline, and colleague-access checks. Where enabled, review AI-drafted consulting follow-ups and send them separately. Booking confirmations and reminders follow your configured scheduling rules.
Keep prospects moving
Use pipelines and follow-up tracking to manage:
- New inquiries and referral introductions
- Discovery calls
- Assessments and scoping proposals
- Renewal or expansion opportunities
- Proposal follow-ups waiting on a client response
Review the next action for each opportunity: a scope question to resolve, a proposal awaiting feedback, or a renewal conversation to schedule. Track active assessment delivery in a project, separately from a new implementation opportunity. When a deal is won, confirm the win and its reason to start the linked project handoff; check that the project was created before treating the handoff as complete.
Give clients a better experience
Use client portals, scheduling, and forms to collect assessment inputs and arrange stakeholder interviews. Share the statement of work or a client deliverable through the portal when it is ready for the client to see.
The client gets access to the forms and files you share, while your consultants keep the contact history and engagement next steps together.
Turn one update into a note and a task
After a discovery call, Maya Chen gives Vee two next steps in one request: record Priya Shah’s ERP readiness review and prepare a task to request Northstar’s org chart. Vee puts both proposed actions in a plan for Maya to check before saving. Consulting proposals, client notes, and follow-up stay connected to the relevant records.
From inquiry to ongoing relationship
Vertiqa can support a consulting workflow such as:
- 1Step 1
Inquiry
Capture a referral introduction and the business problem to explore.
- 2Step 2
Assessment
Record discovery and stakeholder interview notes, goals, and assessment next steps.
- 3Step 3
Proposal
Keep the proposal, statement of work, and client follow-up connected.
- 4Step 4
Engagement
Track client deliverables, review meetings, and the person responsible for each task.
- 5Step 5
Follow-through
Record renewal discussions, expansion opportunities, and referral follow-ups.
The exact workflow can be configured around how your firm sells and serves clients.
Keep delivery moving when plans change
Client work rarely follows a perfect sequence. When information arrives late or a client asks for more work, keep the issue, the person following up, and the affected next step together.
Example: waiting for client information. Daniel Kim, NexaBridge’s program manager, needs the client’s org chart to choose who to interview. It was due Tuesday and still hasn’t arrived. In Vertiqa, he owns the follow-up task “Client: send org chart,” with a reminder to check in on Wednesday. Link the interview-planning task to it in the same project so everyone can see what is waiting and why. Daniel contacts the client, and the team decides whether to reschedule; linking tasks alone does not send a message or stop work.
A different situation: the client asks for more work. If the client requests extra interviews, Daniel records the request and asks Maya Chen, the managing partner, to review the scope and next follow-up. Keep the signed statement of work (SOW) or change order from your signing process as the approval record. Adding a task or sharing a file does not mean the client has approved the extra work.

Moving from spreadsheets or another CRM?
Plan the move around your active engagements: who the client stakeholders are, where proposals and deliverables live, and which commitments need a follow-up. Confirm the calendar, email, phone, and messaging connections your consultants need.
Before switching, Vertiqa can help you evaluate:
- Which client, prospect, and referral partner records need to move
- How discovery, assessment, and proposal stages should be organized
- Which calendars and inboxes the engagement team needs to connect
- Where statements of work, interview notes, and deliverables belong
- Which proposal follow-ups and renewal reminders need to be preserved
Setup time depends on your workflows, integrations, and the information being migrated. Agree on the migration scope and setup plan before switching.
Questions consulting firms ask
Is Vertiqa a CRM for consulting firms?
Yes. Use CRM and pipelines to track prospects and referral relationships, scheduling for discovery calls, and tasks and documents for assessment next steps and client deliverables. Client portals and follow-up tracking help keep the engagement connected to the relationship.
Can Vertiqa manage consulting leads and opportunities?
Yes. Track a referral introduction through discovery, assessment, and proposal stages, with a contact record, opportunity, and follow-up tasks. Use the same relationship history when discussing a renewal or a new engagement with an existing client.
Can Vertiqa help with meeting follow-up?
Enter discovery call or stakeholder interview notes, connect them to the client contact, and create tasks for assessment questions or promised deliverables. AI-assisted recap drafts and watched follow-up depend on workspace availability. Confirm support during setup; review proposed owners and dates before saving, then review and send any recap separately.
Will Vertiqa send messages automatically?
Where enabled, AI-drafted consulting follow-ups require human approval before sending. Booking confirmations and reminders can be sent automatically according to your scheduling configuration.
Can consulting firms use their existing email and calendar?
Vertiqa supports Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 / Outlook Calendar, and Apple iCloud Calendar connections, plus Gmail, Microsoft 365 email, and IMAP/SMTP email options. Availability, permissions, and setup requirements should be confirmed for your workspace.
How much does Vertiqa cost?
Plans start at $22 per user per month through October 24, 2026. Standard pricing begins at $29 per user per month after the launch period. Every core tool is included in one plan. A 30-day free trial is available, and no credit card is required. See the pricing page for complete terms, add-ons, and Enterprise options.
How quickly can we get started?
Start by confirming your consulting workflow, active engagements, data to import, and required integrations. Setup time depends on those needs; agree on the migration scope and setup plan before switching.
Is Vertiqa suitable for a solo consultant?
Yes. Vertiqa’s per-user pricing, CRM, scheduling, follow-up tracking, document management, and AI-assisted workflows can support solo consultants as well as consulting teams.
Can we control what colleagues can see?
Role permissions control the actions a colleague can take. Record visibility is a separate setting for supported record types, such as contacts and opportunities. Projects are organization-wide collaboration spaces for users with project access; assigning an owner does not make a project private. Confirm access for each workflow during setup, including any AI-assisted retrieval, before using it for confidential client work.
What can a client see in the portal?
Clients can use their portal forms and requests, upload files, and view documents shared with their contact or a linked opportunity. A document is shared when its sharing switch is on or it is in a shared folder; new files in that folder inherit sharing. Internal notes and the sales pipeline are not portal views. Review the file contents before sharing: a commercial document you share is visible to the client. Unsharing cannot recall a copy already downloaded.
Where should our working documents and approved SOW live?
Keep the live working document in the authoring tool your team has agreed to use. Upload a clearly named copy to the relevant Vertiqa record when it belongs in the client history, and choose portal sharing deliberately. Vertiqa records the scope discussion, decision owner, and next action; your signed SOW or change order remains the approval evidence. A reference to a document, an upload, or a shared file does not establish client approval.
Stop rebuilding the client relationship from memory
Bring the discovery notes, statement of work, client deliverables, and next renewal conversation into the same connected client history.
