Vee: email drafts, Review & send, and follow-ups that come back
Ask Vee to draft an email, check it, and send it yourself with Review & send — and see the follow-up come back on its due day with links to the contact and the draft.
After a meeting you usually owe someone two things: a follow-up and a short email. Vee can prepare both from one sentence. The email is saved as an unsent draft on the contact. Vee never sends it. You read it, change it if you like, and send it yourself with Review & send. On the follow-up's due day, the task comes back on Home with links to the person and the draft.
1. Ask Vee for the follow-up and the draft
Say or type what happened and what you owe:
"Met Dana Reyes today. Remind me to call her Thursday and draft a thank-you email saying I'll send the proposal Friday."
Vee prepares each change for review, the same as any other request:
- a follow-up task for Dana, due Thursday
- a Save email draft review with the Contact, Subject and Message (and the Follow-up it belongs to, when there is one). It says Saves an unsent email draft. Nothing is sent.
Vee writes the email from your words and signs it with the name on your profile. It doesn't leave placeholders like [Your Name] in the text. Keep a draft short: a subject of up to 255 characters and a message of up to 2,000.
Check the review, and reply to fix anything ("make the email less formal", "the call is Friday, not Thursday"). Then choose Save changes. The receipt shows the draft as pending and links to it. In an older conversation that shows cards instead, tap Confirm.
The draft is always for a contact: either someone already in your CRM or a new contact Vee is adding in the same plan. If there are two people with the same name, Vee asks which one you mean.
2. Review & send the draft yourself
Open the draft from the receipt (or from the contact's activity). The page is called Unsent draft and shows its Delivery as Not sent.
- Read the Subject and Message. Edit them if you need to, then tap Save draft. Copy puts the text on your clipboard if you'd rather send it from somewhere else.
- Tap Review & send. The email composer opens with the text already filled in. The recipient is the contact's email address, and you can't change it here. There are no CC or BCC fields and no templates in this composer.
- Choose one of your own connected mailboxes to send from, then send.
The page then says Email queued for delivery. The draft becomes the sent email on the contact's timeline. Nothing goes out until you send it in step 3. Confirming in Vee, saving the draft, and copying it never send anything.
When Review & send is greyed out, the reason appears under the button:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Sending needs email send access. | Your role can't send email. Ask your admin, or use Copy. |
| Add an email address to the contact to send this draft. | Add the email on the contact's page, then come back. |
| The recipient is not available to you. | You can't see that contact. Ask its owner. |
| Reload the draft before sending. | The draft changed somewhere else. Reload to see the latest version. |
| A draft needs a subject and a message. | Fill in both, then Save draft. |
If sending fails with Choose one of your own connected mailboxes to send from, connect a mailbox first (see Email accounts). If you see This email may already have been sent, reload the draft and check its Delivery before you try again. A retry never sends the same draft twice.
The Related panel beside the draft links to the Contact, the Follow-up (with its due date), and any Other drafts for the same person.
3. The follow-up comes back on its due day
You don't need to remember where the draft is. When the follow-up is due or overdue:
- Home (Full mode). It appears under Needs you today with links to the contact and to the draft (Draft · and the subject). Mark done fills the message box with the request. Send it and confirm it as usual.
- Today (Simple mode). It appears under Due work with the same links, a Done button, and Reschedule. Pick a new day (or time) and tap Move. See all due work opens the full list.
If someone else changed the task after the list loaded, you'll see This task changed since the brief loaded. Tap Reload and try again.
What Vee won't do
- Send an email for you. Vee only saves drafts. Sending is always your own action, from your own mailbox, through Review & send.
- Save anything before you approve it. No task or draft exists until you choose Save changes (or tap Confirm in an older conversation).
- Do more than your role allows. If you can't create activities, Vee can't save a draft for you. If you can't send email, you can still read and copy the draft.
