Create and publish an event
Draft an event, configure its page, questions, and co-hosts, then publish it when it's ready to go live.
Events go live in two moves: a quick draft, then configuration on the event's Settings tab before you publish.
Create the draft
New event on the Events list asks only for the essentials:
- Title, Starts, Ends, and Timezone.
- Location type — In person, Virtual, or Hybrid, with venue name and address or a virtual URL as appropriate.
- Visibility — Invite only (the default) or Public.
Create draft saves it. Nothing is visible to guests yet.
Configure it on the Settings tab
Open the draft and switch to Settings:
- Title and Description — the description supports Markdown and renders sanitized on the public page.
- Schedule & visibility — while the event is a draft, you can still change the start and end, timezone, location, and visibility here. Once published, this section locks: time changes go through Reschedule in the page header (which notifies approved guests), and location and visibility stay as published.
- Cover image — JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP up to 10 MB. Upload, then Save changes to keep it.
- Capacity — leave blank for unlimited. When a capped event fills, new registrations are waitlisted.
- Require host approval — registrations wait for a host to approve before they're confirmed.
- Custom registration questions — up to five, each short text, long text, multiple choice, or yes/no, optionally required.
- Co-hosts — add teammates who help run the event.
- Related CRM record — anchor the event to a contact, opportunity, account, or campaign so it shows up in that record's story.
- Reminder configuration — sets the timing this event would use for reminders once that capability is available. It does not send anything today.
Publish
Publish from the list's Publish row action. The confirmation is explicit: publishing makes the event live and cannot be undone by unpublishing. The public link (slug) locks at publish.
After publishing you can still edit Settings-tab content and manage guests — the lock is on being live, not on the content.
After it's live: reschedule or cancel
A published event gets two more header actions:
- Reschedule — pick a new time window; approved guests are notified with an updated calendar file.
- Cancel event — the event page stops accepting registrations and approved guests get a cancellation notice. This can't be undone.
Run it again
Duplicate (in the event header) copies the event into a new draft, including its configuration and dates. Set the new schedule in the draft's Schedule & visibility section, then publish the copy.
