Appearance
Personal preferences for theme, dark mode, navigation layout, density, text size, and mode — applied to your account on this device.
The appearance page is a personal preference panel — settings here apply to your account only, not to your organization.
What you can set
-
Theme — a range of color themes (Default, Slate, Sand, Midnight, and more).
-
Dark mode — switches the whole app to the dark palette. It is shared with Simple mode, so turning it on here also turns it on there (and vice versa). The admin portal keeps its own separate dark setting. Dark mode takes precedence over the Theme you pick: with it on, every theme resolves to the dark palette.
-
Navigation layout — how the app's navigation is arranged. Five choices, all showing the same modules and pages:
- Classic sidebar — the two-level sidebar the app has always used.
- Icon rail + panel — a narrow strip of module icons beside a panel listing just that module's pages.
- Rail with labels — the same, with each icon named.
- App launcher — a top bar with a launcher grid; pick a module once and get a short, flat sidebar for it.
- Top tabs + menus — module tabs across the top and no left navigation at all, so pages get the full window width.
Your pick applies instantly and follows your account to any browser. On phones every layout falls back to the sidebar drawer.
-
Density — Comfortable or Compact. Compact fits more rows on screen; comfortable adds breathing room.
-
Text Size — Default, Large, or Larger, for more comfortable reading.
-
Mode — switch between Full and Simple experience modes, which change how much of the app's chrome and controls are shown.
Change appearance from anywhere
You don't have to open settings to adjust these. The Appearance button (palette icon) in the top bar opens a quick switcher for theme, density, text size, and mode from any page. Dark mode is not in the quick switcher — change it from this panel or, in Simple mode, from the profile menu.
Tips
- Try compact density if you spend a lot of time on dense list views, and a larger text size if you want easier reading.
- Theme, density and text size are stored on this device only and don't sync across browsers. Mode, Dark mode and Navigation layout are the exceptions — they are saved to your account and follow you everywhere.
- Workspace admins can set a default navigation layout for everyone under Settings › UI Configuration. It applies only to people who have not picked one here; your own choice always wins.
