Work an opportunity
Drive an opportunity to close — edit deal fields, advance stages, manage notes and documents.
The opportunity detail page is where you actually run a deal: maintain its fields, capture what happened, and drive it to close.
On the page
At the top you'll find the deal's summary cards — a Quote summary (the health of the latest linked estimate and the next step), Opportunity details (value, expected close, pipeline, stage, owner, probability, next step), and Relationships (account, contact, and location, each linkable inline).
Below that, the same history and activity is available through four tabs:
- Timeline — the unified lifecycle and communication stream. It has its own Detailed / Compact / Story views and filter chips.
- Classic — the same chronology drawn in a traditional center-line milestone style. Same events, different look.
- Activity — the interactive feed where you read and write activity. Sub-filters cover Activity / Notes / Emails / Calls / Tasks / Meetings, and an Add note box lives here.
- Documents — proposals, contracts, and supporting files for the deal.
Common tasks
- Update deal fields. The header Edit button opens a form for value, expected close date, owner, next step, and status — the inputs forecasting depends on.
- Advance the stage. Stage moves happen on the opportunities board (drag a card between columns); the detail page shows the current stage.
- Reach out. The header shows an Email, Call, SMS, or WhatsApp composer for the channels the linked contact has. WhatsApp can attach the opportunity's documents.
- Add a note. Use the Add note box on the Activity tab — notes live in that feed now, not in a separate tab.
- Mark as Won. When the deal closes, the header Mark as Won button confirms the win (with optional won notes) and kicks off the won hand-off, including spinning up a project for the work.
Tip
If an opportunity goes quiet for more than a stage's worth of time, either re-engage with a clear next step or move it to closed-lost. Stale opportunities pollute forecasts.
