Edit an account

Update account details, link contacts, opportunities, and locations, and run company research.

The account detail page is where you maintain everything Vertiqa knows about a company. Changes save against the account record and are visible to anyone in your organization with CRM access.

Tabs on the page

  • Overview — the working view of the account: summary stats (contacts, open opportunities, pipeline value), the account's details, tags, notes, attachments, and its related records.
  • Research — the AI company-research surface, seeded from the account's website. Run it here when you want a quick brief on the company.

Inside the Overview tab

The Overview tab groups the account's related records into sub-tabs, each with a count:

  • Contacts — the people linked to this account. Add Contact opens a form and auto-links the new contact here.
  • Opportunities — deals linked to the account, with status and value. Add Opportunity creates one in your default pipeline's first stage.
  • Locations — the account's service sites, with per-site Edit, Set Primary, and Archive actions. Add Location adds a new site.
  • Emails — email activity for the account; open one to read the thread.

Common tasks

  1. Update account fields. Use Edit Account in the header to open the edit form (name, industry, website, phone, address, revenue, employees, owner, tags).
  2. Add a contact, opportunity, or location from the matching sub-tab in Overview — each new record is linked to this account automatically.
  3. Reach out. If a linked contact has an email, the header Compose button starts an email pre-addressed to them. (Calls and messaging happen from the individual contact's page.)
  4. Delete from the header menu — note this also removes related contacts and opportunities, so prefer it only for true duplicates.

Tip

Tag the account with anything you want to filter on later — territory, account tier, vertical specialization. Add and manage tags in the Overview tab's tags & notes panel (or in the edit form). Tags carry through to reports.
