Company State overview

Where what your company promised, decided, and flagged is kept as records — commitments, decisions, risks, policies, and intention records.

Most of what a company has committed to lives in someone's head, an inbox, or a call nobody wrote down. Company State is where those things are kept as records instead — so they can be listed, owned, chased, and closed out.

It is a Full mode section and does not appear in Simple mode. If you don't see it in the nav at all, it isn't switched on for your organization.

The five kinds of record

  • Commitments — a promise. Who promised it, who it was promised to, who owns delivering it, and when it's due.
  • Decisions — a call that was made, with the reasoning behind it and who made it.
  • Risks — an exposure, with a severity from low to critical and an owner.
  • Policies — a rule you intend to hold to, written as subject, condition, and expectation.
  • Intention records — an intended state, usually written by a workflow rather than typed by a person.

Each has its own list, reached from the cards on the Company State landing page.

Where records come from

Two ways, and both end up in the same lists:

  • You create one. Every type has a New button on its list page.
  • An agent or connector creates one from evidence it processed — an email it read, a record it synced. Those arrive with their source attached, which is what the provenance panel on every detail page shows.

You cannot type a source evidence link by hand. Provenance is written by the thing that created the record, so that "where did this come from" always has a real answer.

Reading the landing page

The landing page shows a card per type with a big number — how many are open or active — and a smaller line reading "N sampled".

That word matters. The landing page loads the 25 most recent records of each type, so on a busy organization the counts describe that sample, not your whole history. Open the list itself for the real picture.

Below the cards, Commitment due highlights shows open commitments that are overdue or due within the next seven days.

Permissions

Viewing, creating, editing, and closing are four separate permissions. If a New button is missing, or a Close button is greyed out, your role doesn't have that one — ask an admin.
