Calculations in the client portal

Share a saved ConstructionCalc calculation with one portal client so they can try their own assumptions, while your original stays unchanged.

If your organization uses the ConstructionCalc calculator, you can share a saved calculation with a client through the portal. They see your numbers, change the assumptions to try their own, and save each attempt as a separate calculation. Your original is never changed.

The portal shows a Calculations section only when your organization has Instruments turned on.

You need permission to view instruments and the Manage Portal permission.

Open the saved calculation's run (Settings → Instruments, the instrument, then the run).
In the Client portal card, select Share editable calculator.
Pick the Portal user. Only active portal users who don't already have this calculation are listed.
Select Share editable calculator in the dialog.

The dialog spells out what the client gets: their saved assumptions, results, schedules and model notes are shared; traces, hashes and administrative details aren't. The card then lists who it's shared with and when.

Some calculations can't be shared, and the card says why: only a completed ConstructionCalc calculation can be shared, never a test calculation, one whose inputs were removed, or a calculator version that can't be shared. A client's own saved attempt has to become a promoter revision before you can share it.

Revoke access

Select Revoke access next to the person in the Client portal card and confirm. They lose access straight away. The calculation and its history are kept.

What the client sees

Calculations lists each calculation shared with them, with who prepared it and when it was prepared and shared. Opening one shows the calculation's inputs, including its assumptions, which they can change and save with Recalculate and save.

Each save is kept as a separate calculation, listed below the form as Your calculation with its date and status. Selecting a date opens that attempt again.
Original from promoter goes back to your numbers.
If you revoke access, the page says "This calculation is not available."
