Employees
The staffing directory — add people, track status through the hire lifecycle, and watch follow-up nudges.

The employees page is the directory of everyone who works here. Each row is a directory record, not a payroll record — it captures who someone is and where they sit, so the rest of HR (time off, balances) has a person to hang off.
What you can do here
- Add an employee — name is required; job title, department, employment type, hire date, and probation date are optional.
- Filter by status with the quick-filter chips, or by the follow-up filter to surface people whose probation is ending soon.
- Search by name, email, or title; group by department, type, or status; and export the visible list to CSV.
- Open an employee to see the full record and move them through the lifecycle.
The hire lifecycle
A new employee starts as Prospective. From the employee record you move them through:
- Prospective — created, not yet started.
- Active — use Hire to activate them.
- On leave — temporarily away.
- Terminated — no longer employed (the record stays for history).
Compensation is permission-gated
Compensation amount, currency, and pay cadence only appear — on both the create form and the record — for roles that hold the compensation permission. Without it, you can manage the directory but never see pay.
Tips
- Set a probation end date when it applies. The "probation ending soon" follow-up filter depends on it, so it can nudge you before the date slips by.
- Keep status honest. Time-off pickers and balances default to non-terminated employees, so stale statuses leak into those lists.
