A formal RFQ is the structured document you send to suppliers to get a quote. You can draft one directly from an inbound inquiry so the original ask stays attached to the record.
Steps
- Open the inbound inquiry.
- Click Create formal RFQ. Vertiqa pre-fills the RFQ with the asker's contact, the requested items, and any quantities pulled from the message.
- Review the draft and edit anything the parser got wrong. See Edit formal RFQ content.
- When the draft looks correct, export it. See Export formal RFQ to PDF.
What gets linked
- The new RFQ is associated with the originating inquiry.
- If the inquiry was already promoted to a lead or opportunity, the RFQ attaches to those too.
- Activity on the RFQ (sent, viewed, responded) shows on the inquiry timeline.
Tip
If the inquiry contains multiple distinct asks, create one RFQ per ask rather than packing them into a single document — supplier responses are easier to compare that way.
